Platform for Research on Instant Messaging Infrastructures
Problem:
The instant messaging platform PRIMI needed to be enhanced, so that awareness information could be derived from new channels. This information should be processed in the project Cooperative Ubiquitous Environments (CUE). CUE makes it possible for multiple users to interact with various mobile and fixed devices at the same time through this ubiquitous environment.
Approach:
Awareness information could be derived through simple signal processing from the audio and video signal. This new awareness channels could then be used as further “sensors” in CUE.
Result:
Impementation of an audio and video chat in the java based Platform PRIMI and arrangement for the “sensors” in CUE.
